Suns and Eggs in the Grass
Once strolling through a park with Dad I saw great
lots of yellow spots on the carpet of grass.
They are so like suns, those spots. And yes, I wanted to eat them - they looked
so nice!
And Dad smiled and said : - These are flowers ! Dandelions.
And I asked him to let me go eat them.
But Dad said: Come on, you are whining again. Here's your rattle, but forget
about the flowers -
they are dirty, and I know you will put them in your mouth at once!
What a far-sighted man my Dad is ! I'll surely taste that beautyЕ with my
tongue (because I got no teeth yet).
And my friend Natasha's Mom brought her some of those suns from the grass
carpet and let her play with them.
Natasha put her teeth to use at once! (she already got them).
My Dad told Natasha's Mom:
- Ain't you a nurse ? Why do you let your daughter eat this city dirt ?
And I thought - this is no dirt ! these are little suns !
I was so excited that I stopped gnawing my rattle.
And Natasha's Mom said:
- So what? She's a city child, let her get used to city microbes since childhood.
When she's a toddler,
she will pick up any stuff from the road and into her mouth - can I always
keep my eye on her ?
My Dad didn't agree with her. He spoke to her about all kinds of diseases
and some strange eggsЕ
I wonder what kind of eggs, I didn't see any on the grass carpet, I saw dogs,
I saw cats, I saw no eggsЕ
Natasha's Mom and my Dad even had a small quarrel about it.
And still I think those suns are no dirt at all, and there are no eggs in
the grassЕ
